Abstract

Drug Therapy Problem (DTP) is a treatment therapy problem that often occurs to patients so as to inhibit the achievement of the desired treatment goals, one of which is the non-compliance of Diabetic Mellitus patients in taking antidiabetic drugs and their management in daily life to achieve the target of therapy. This study aims to find out the level of compliance with used of oral antidiabetic drugs in patients diabetes mellitus at Madiun City Hospital. The type of research is observational using descriptive methods. Sampling using accidental sampling method with a sample number of 100 patients. The data collection instrument uses the MMAS-8 questionnaire to see the compliance rate of Diabetes Mellitus patients. Using characteristic indicators including gender, age, length of treatment, type of treatment used by filling out questionnaires then analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results of the study obtained the level of compliance with oral antidiabetic drug use in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus in Madiun City Hospital 40.0% with a high compliance rate, 37.1% with moderate compliance and 22.9% low compliance rate. The results of the analysis using Chi-Square obtained p=<0.05 which showed there was a relationship between characteristic indicators and the level of adherence to oral diabetes drug use. This it can be said that patients with a level of adherence to the use of oral antidiabetic drugs in the category of high levels of adherence are more than the number of patients with moderate compliance levels and patients with low compliance levels.
